Need help paying for heat this winter?.... You are not alone.  

 

Fuel Assistance Seminar  Wednesday Sept. 28th

Agawam Senior Center     1pm- 3pm   & 6pm-8pm

 

The Agawam Housing Committee (AHC) & Mayor Sapelli Hosting Seminar on Fuel Assistance.   The AHC is teaming up with The Valley Opportunity Council (VOC) to provide this informational seminar.   There is NO COST or obligation to attend!

 

Cost of heating fuel highest in years !! Whether you rent or own, you could get help with your heating costs this winter!!

 

Better than 50% of renters and about 30% of Agawam HOMEOWNERS may actually qualify for fuel assistance.  Homeowners could also qualify for assistance with heating system repair/replacement.   If you do qualify for these programs, you may also qualify a water bill credit next year!!   Come and listen to VOC staff explain how…..

 

* You can be eligible even if you own a home or heat is included in your rent.

* You could also qualify for no-cost home energy efficiency improvements including heating  system

     repairs/replacement (HEARTWAP)

*As many as 3 in 10 Agawam homeowners could qualify for fuel assistance ( ex: Gross household income of   

   $81,500 for a family of four.)

* As many as 50% of renters could qualify for fuel assistance.

 

For the benefit of work and personal schedules, two sessions are being held. Residents are welcome to attend either session.

 

The Valley Opportunity Council will be presenting this informational seminar.  Their staff will be on hand to answer questions as well as assist with any follow up and application steps.

 

This is an opportunity to attend and find out whether you just might be eligible for assistance you may not have thought were eligible.  Nothing ventured, nothing gained !!
