Town of Agawam to offer free COVID-19 testing for residents and town employees

The Town of Agawam will be offering free COVID-19 testing to Agawam residents, town employees and students of Agawam Public School on Monday, December 21st from 1:00-6:00 pm.  The testing will be held at Six Flags New England. 

Testing is free, does not require a medical referral, and you do not need to have COVID-19 symptoms to get tested. However, you must pre-register to receive a test (pre-registration details below). 

 According to Mayor Sapelli “The Town greatly appreciates the assistance of American Medical Response (AMR), Six Flags New England, the Agawam Police and Fire Departments and the Department of Public Works.  We are always honored to leverage our resources and work with local partners for the benefit of our community.  Mayor Sapelli further added, “Positive cases are on the rise across Massachusetts and we must take every step possible to control the spread of this virus.”

If you would like to be tested, you must pre-register. You may pre-register here: https://bit.ly/3qII0f2  There will be no appointments and testing is first come first served. 

Cars should enter the Six Flags parking lot on Main Street adjacent to the footbridge.  Proof of residency or employment will be required. Gates will not open until 12:00 pm.  Cars must be in line by 6:00 pm to be tested.   Drivers are encouraged to have fuel in their vehicle, as there may be a long wait.  Additionally, due to Covid-19 concerns, there will be no rest room facilities on site.  

Test results are expected to be returned in under 72 hours.   If results do not arrive in 72 hrs please email spfldcovidresults@gmail.com but not before then. Emails with results come from Care Evolve.  Please do not contact the Health Department for test results.

COVID Test Site for Agawam Residents, Town Employees and Students


The Town of Agawam in conjunction with American Medical Response (AMR) is working for you to provide a COVID-19 testing site for the holiday season. Do your part to get tested before visiting your loved ones. We encourage you to practice safe holiday activities. Testing is free, does not require a medical referral, and you do not need to have COVID-19 symptoms to get tested. However, you must pre-register to receive a test (pre-registration details below).   Testing will only be provided to Agawam Residents, Town of Agawam municipal employees and Agawam Public School students and employees.  Proof of residency or employment will be required.  

 

Q: When will the COVID Test Site be held?

A: Monday, December 21, 2020 from 1pm-6pm.  Cars must be in line by 6:00 pm to be tested.   Testing is first come first served.  


 Q: Where do we enter?

A: Six Flags New England is located at 1623 Main Street.  Testing will take place in the parking lot.  Please enter the parking lot adjacent to the footbridge.  Gates will not open until 12:00 pm.

 

Q: What do we do when we get there?

A: Keep your windows up! Make sure you have your proof of residency or employment ready and proceed along the route.   Drivers are encourage to have adequate fuel in their vehicle as there may a long wait.  In addition, be advised there will be no rest room facilities on site.    

 

Q: Can I get a test if I do not live in Agawam?

A: This clinic is only for Agawam Residents only unless you are a Town employee or attend Agawam Public Schools.  American Medical Response is also holding a clinic at the Eastfield Mall.  Find another testing site by visiting this website here.

 

Q: How can I/Should I pre-register?

Q: How long will it take to get my results?

A: Results will be returned in under 72 hours. Negative results will get e-mailed and positive results will receive a phone call.  If results don’t arrive in 72 hrs please email us at spfldcovidresults@gmail.com but please do not email us before then. The Town of Agawam is committed to keeping their residents safe by providing testing during the holiday season. We encourage you to participate and do your part to stop the spread. At this clinic we will stop accepting cars at 6:00pm. If you are unable to get tested at this site please visit the Mass.gov website for other local testing locations.
