PUBLIC COMMENT ON COVID-19
SMALL BUSINESS RESILIENCY GRANT PROGRAM
The Agawam City Council held a public hearing on Tuesday, April 21, 2020. The purpose of the hearing was to consider a programmatic and budget change to Agawam’s FY19 Community Development Block Grant Program. The Council, in consultation with the Mayor’s Office and the Office of Planning and Community Development, seeks to introduce an Economic Development assistance activity for the purpose of providing grants in amounts up to $10,000 for qualified small businesses. The acceptance of the proposed new activity replaces the previously approved North Agawam infrastructure planning study, which may be reconsidered as part of future grants.
The City Council held this hearing as a virtual on-line meeting, which is available as a link on Agawam’s official web site (http://www.agawam.ma.us/) and on the Town of Agawam’s Facebook web site https://www.facebook.com/townofagawam. Any person or organization having questions or comments concerning this proposed change shall be directed to Marc Strange, Director of Planning & Community Development no later than Friday, May 1, 2020 at mstrange@agawam.ma.us.
Persons who require special accommodations to view or hear the meeting and for further general information, please contact Marc Strange at mstrange@agawam.ma.us or (413) 726-9738.
