Applause Series Event - ¡Fiesta del Agawam! by the Mexican Mariachi band Fiesta del Norte

Friday, April 7, 2023

Showtime is 7:00 PM; doors open at 6:15 PM. This performance will also be livestreamed on Agawam Channel 15. Dressed in traditional sombreros and “charro” outfits, the Fiesta del Norte repertoire spans the Mariachis of Jalisco to the Nortenas of Chihuahua, to the harp music of Vera Cruz, down to the Marimba music of Chiapas. Played on authentic instruments such as guitar, vihuela, guitarron, violin, trumpet, and with beautiful singing throughout, the musical numbers are interspersed with song translations, storytelling and cultural insights. Fiesta del Norte is a Hartford-based ensemble that has serenaded New England audiences at major festivals, First Nights, colleges, schools, libraries, town greens, and senior centers since 1986. The hallmark of every Fiesta del Norte concert is the wonderful audience participation that takes place, with singing and the joyful calls or “gritos” heard with every song. All are welcome — put on your sombreros and cheer Mexico with Fiesta del Norte!
