Did you know that the average dog can produce nearly a pound of waste each day?
Pet waste left on lawns and in public spaces in not only gross, it can be quite harmful too.
If left in your yard, pet waste can kill grass and other plants.
Pet waste contains twice as much bacteria as human waste!
A single gram of pet waste can contain 23 million fecal coliform bacteria and can spread diseases like Giardia and Salmonella.
Adults and children who come in contact with pet wast can get sick.
When pet waste washes into storm drains and waterways, it can make the water unhealthy for people and wildlife.
Pet wast in water ways can even cause algae to grow, making the water turn an unpleasant green color.

How can you help?
Bring it! Always bring a plastic bag with you when you walk your dog.
Bag it! Use the bag as a glove to pick up pet waste.
Dispose of it! Properly dispose of pet waste in a trash can. NEVER leave bag behind or leave in storm drain.
