Mission Statement:
The Office of Planning and Community Development is a multi-task department assisting in the overall growth of the community in an orderly and managed approach to promote economic development, natural resources and community character. The Office of Planning and Community Development oversees the preparation of comprehensive plans and studies which guide growth while balancing community needs and resources. The Office of Planning and Community Development provides a fair and efficient system of application processing and permitting. Located within the office of Planning and Community Development are:

The Agawam Conservation Commission
The Ad Hoc Redevelopment Committee
The Office of Planning and Community Development also advises and provides assistance to the following Boards, Commissions and Committees:

The Agawam Beautification Committee
The Agawam Historical Commission.
