STORM DEBRIS UPDATE

December 19, 2011

The Town of Agawam, Department of Public Works is pleased to inform residents  that the First Pass for Storm Debris collection has been completed as of December 18, 2011.

The following is a breakdown of the work completed:

·         A total of 158,953 cubic yards of storm debris was collected (average dump truck will hold 5-8 cubic yards);

·         A total of 2,028 trees had hanging limbs removed;

·         And, a total of 60 leaning trees were removed from the right of way.

Please note that the Storm Debris Disposal area on South West Street will be closed until further notice.

Finally, the Department of Public Works would like to thank the residents for their patience and cooperation during the cleanup process.
